2 weeks to go...

On February 5th I'm leavin' on a jet plane and don't know when I'll be moving back again.

It's a strange feeling to not be questioning my decision. There has been only one other time in my life I've felt so confident about a decision. The only regret I have is that I'll be moving away from my daughters. We've become great friends. I'll miss having a work-out buddy, daily interaction, wonderful conversations and going to Issaquah's Village Theatre with them. I feel as if I'm abandoning Kyla especially. I know that she is happy for me just as I've been for her when she went off on her adventures but, just the same, this is a very difficult time for both of us.

My new apartment is on the 10th floor of McKinley Tower and has a fantastic view of Cook Inlet and the Alaska Range. I hear the Ididarod starts just down the street and I'll have a great view. I'm going to have to buy some good binoculars!

Report Date

Finally...the report date for my new job has been negotiated, it's February 6, 2009. I will fly up to Anchorage on a one-way ticket (scarry!) on the 4th or 5th. In preparation, I'll go on a house hunting trip next week.

I've been doing some online research and discovered that Google maps has a street view option for many addresses. If you've not seen it yet, check it out when you map a location. It's cool!
